Which would be the best processor to buy, for under £175 (Hopefully leaving enough for RAM)

E6600 is outdated and you shouldn't buy it. E6750 is faster and cheaper

E6750 is faster than X2 6000+

E6750 needs an LGA775 motherboard. X2 6000+ needs an AM2 motherboard

If your budget is 175 pounds perhaps you should consider one of the new Quad cores.

Is this motherboard right for the intel? The only other ones I can find that look right are about £140-£150, so it looks a bit cheap to be what I'm after, but I never know...
