New PSP Slim

So the electronics are miniaturized and changed a few things. I don't see anything special about it.

Yeh, the only good thing is the TV output and the Star Wars design. The higher brightness isnt much.

Its not that much smaller. TV output is OK I guess. The thing is the PSP is already so damn pimp you can't improve on it much.

I was hoping the reduce in size would make it cheaper like the new PS2.(its like 300 grams lighter). The SW version is supposed to be packed with Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron so another reason for me to buy it.

It is more like that they can produce brighter LCD screens and every gadget is incorporating that, the iPod fifth generation, cell phones, etc...

Anyway, interesting... Let me read the articles first.

Hooray! More consumer electronics that I can't afford!

Two hundred dollars seems like a steep price for what may be little upgrades.

why does it cost $200 in the USA and 160 pounds in the UK when one pound worth two dollars?

And 200 is a fair price IMHO, the old one is about $170, IIRC. (I was thinking about buying one last week, but I didn't.... I might buy the lite one though.(

Well, considering I've seen people shell out the extra money just to get the slightly improved system, I'd say it'd be a steep price.

As for the retail price...I don't know. Maybe it's more expensive to send the units there or more expensive to have retail space in the UK.

No, gaming corporates are always trying to rip Europe off. Often, a title that would go for $59 in the US would cost the same in euros or pounds, they don't bother to do a conversion.

Because they just love to do this kind of thing. Microsoft and Sony love to charge almost the same in dollars or pounds. They they get stroppy when everyone imports them on the grey market. Their claims that it is more expensive to sell in pounds is demonstrated to be drivle when people can buy them in dollars or yen, import them, pay the duty and still retail them cheaper than the UK licence.

Just Microsoft and Sony? Everyone in the industry does this...including Nintendo.
