I'm looking for a new race to play. I have played Clan of Embers and Grigori and I loved them both. Been playing Jotnar enjoyed them but they apparently have a crashing problem so I am looking for a new race that is fun.

I have enjoyed Both the Chiv and Matz. Wow I can not spell, the American Indians and the Good lizards.

I also found the Elohim to be interesting.

Play Fall Flat, and play the Amurites. Abuse the awesome power of mana!

Easier in the next patch - recon units can found cities... Kinda...

Explain the Kinda term... It seems like a big catch

They found Ninja Lairs, which are similar to cities, except that only ninjas live there.

The Cuali hiss for you to lead them in their quest to spill 'alien red blood'.

These evil lizard's start with the 'slavery' civic! Slingshot off the starting block with perpetual, precise, persuasiveness..... :whipped: :deal:

The unit just determines where the city is built. You still have to produce the equivalent of a settler in another city.

====

Works as follows
  • Recon unit finds a site that looks good (might find Yddragsil on the opposite side of the continent for instance)
  • Existing city completes a project named "Prepare Expedition"
  • Recon unit is then able to found a city where-ever it happens to be (doesn't cost the recon unit, it can act as an initial defender)

The main benefit is that you don't have to escort a settler across all that hostile terrain. You can also prepare an expedition in advance and use it as soon as you find a suitable spot. Only one can be on hold at a time though. Once it is used, you need to complete another "Prepare Expedition".

I sugjest the Callibim. A race of sole sucking vampires that can gain free XP from killing a small amount of city pop.

If you're looking for a powerful civ to play, try the Khazad.

Overflowing vaults, dwarven smithy, artisan's workshop, every master building, and a BFC full of hills, gives you utterly unparalleled production.

In my current khazad game, I have three cities that are capable of producing almost anything instantly. Right now, one of them is occupied doing Rites of Oghma repeatedly, every 6 turns.

Is "Prepare Expedition" built with Food? If not, the Austrin are about to become one of my favourite civs. Always bothers me sacrificing my capital's growth to found a city...

About the Khazad... Somehow, every time I play them my initial warriors become unstoppable through exploration. Apparently, the RNG loves me when I play Khazad... Won a Large marathon speed game in 120 turns.

The Sheaim are pretty interesting as well. Just pick one for yourself. If you haven't read xienwolf's FfH2 manual, there's a lot of info in there that could help you choose. The manual doesn't contain info on the FF races though.

I would recommend the Lanun. Pirate ports prettey much mean you have floating gold mines, which also produce food. Plus, you get Guybrush. 'Nuff said.
And also, the recon units creating cities seems like an extraordinary idea. Can't wait!
