This is what gets me as well. Firaxis is just being lazy, they want to include user made material, and turn around and charge for it. Why would I pay for material I can download for free ?

What ticks me is the they quoted "they had deleted the city view from conquests 'conquests/sceanarios and all mods. THis all in order to save time for release. Well now I see they have plenty of time and have said the only source code they have accsess to is Civ3. Tell me then why can't they throw in the time to make new building apear on the arieal city view shot.
All those hard worked building graphics only get a glance in the pedia when they could liven up those City view shots and = the fact Civ4 has modded building shown on the city scape.
Don't they understand this little effort would win back so much support, by fueling sales of this latest money grap I call without any revisoins a debauchery. It would even fuel sales of those Jaded on the Civ4 series, if they new support would continue to pour in like it did for Civ3 why not pick it up. THe biggest thing would be the shing example of Firaxis listening to its fanbase instead of forgetting them for the latest release. Can't they make a mint of both versions?

Its the only example where using there previous statement as fact, makes skipping work THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ALREADY, not acceptable. Its all based on their reason for omitting the City view, the one important aspect that added dimension, this due to "lack of time" they no city view for CONQESTS, none for mods only epics. They can't deny this left the came uncomplete and that they had the time to fix it, and that it woudn't have been much to do consider what they excpect to reap on a bunch of stuff they already milked on expansion and special editions
Having quoted the choice to release on time and make all conquests available was more important then to do what was needed: not stripping the small element from the game that brought so much character and entirly new dimesion.
Heres a chance where they can juice up intrest in the Modding aspects, make those conquests all the more fun by seeing your city grow prosperous with all those unique buildings that were omitted. Heres the bigger restor faith in the development team and fuel sales on many fronts (CIV COMPLETE, Civ4, Civ Legacy)
Dam one of our boys animated the other city Icon view in two days! (I know this ' arial view' would take much longer, but it would be done in a pro studio with a team of professionals, Theres no excuse They got the code!!!!and they want lots of money!!!)
SO whats stopping them? earn your cash dammit! If it comes down to them having all this time and the custumer is left with no revisions then bah! I can't think of another example so evident of pure greed then this lazyness.

2K_ jason answered my question and verified, that there is defenitely no patch for Civ 3 in that compilation. He sees better chances for getting the source code.

... well I dont think they will release a new version of Civ3 for various reasons:Civinator said:
1)- They already got Civ4
2)- They already came out with Civ 3 Complete which should have all the versions of Civ3....
