New Resources

Noticed that the mines improvement line has a chance to spawn gems but not sapphires or jade or any of the other new gem resources. Thought Gems were supposed to be faced out and replaced by the various types? Some buildings still get bonuses from having Resource Gems but nothing from the new gem types.

I have fixed, in the SVN, the mining line for the new gemstones.

I also removed the Poultry Farm until I can figure out what I have done wrong, I suspect I have reused a name somewhere. ;)
 
In the current build melon resource isn't working. :(
A quick glance over the xml shows that meon has the terrain values for diamonds, jade et al, maybe there's a chance to adjust the terrain values to the according ones as pumpkin and squash. :)

Can you provide a screen dump and a save. It all looks fine in my game. And the XML is the same as in the SVN.
 
I'll provide both this evening my time.
As for the game, it all looks fine but if you mouse over the resource icon it shows me i have 0 melon while i have two of them in my boarders.

I just made a melon farm in my game with current SVN? Remember now its a bonus_farm not a resource.
 
I just had a second glance at the xml and realised that i still haven't irrigation.
Which is the tech that makes it available.:blush:

Found a spell error and some minor flaws.
After some tests i guess it should be fine now.
 
So if we are at the resource limit now how are you going to add a decent amount of other planet and space resources without wiping out heaps of the earth ones? Is there not some way to expand the resource limit through another mod or something? Surely some like this has been created...

We have already gone way beyond the limit. C2C has no limit on resources.
 
We use to have things called "goods" which were free buildings that acted like pseudo-resources. However we have long since gone beyond that by breaking the "resource limit". Which is so awesome since we can have as many as we need. The only real limit now is terrain resources and how many can fit on a generated map. Building created resources on the other hand can have as many as we want.

What do I need to create in the way of XML files and graphics files? I see there is a CIV4BonusInfos.xml file that looks like the main file. Do I also need a separate CIV4BonusClassInfos.xml file as well?

It's not available until Artificial Life (early Galactic Era). I think by that time, we will be creating species for many different roles. I figured at that point, somebody would create them, if only for the profit potential.

If you look in Modules/Resources/Aircraft you will see an example of all the XML you need for a manufactured resource. You will also need graphics for a button and a 16x16 tga icon for the city screen resource list.

What kind of button graphic? Is it the same 64x64 with alpha channel that we use for buildings? I just want to make sure.
