New Roads !!

Have you tried placing the roadprimitive.dds file in "My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CustomAssets\Art\terrain\routes" directory? There probably will not be a file there to replace but when starting up, Civ4 will use the files in your CustomAssets folder and it hopefully will work that way.

Give it a try & let me know.

It looks like you followed patgarr's instructions and put them into the right folder under the game directory. I am using these roads as part of my modpack (see my signature line) and they work well. I don't have them installed to the game directory however but under my modpack folder. I think that patgarr was instructing they be put where you have them so that they would work with multiplayer.

I placed the file in the my documents/yadayadayada/roads and now it works fine.
I choose to chalk up the confusion to sleep depravation. The alternative(that I'm dumber than a cracked-out bag of hammers after a week-long meth binge)is simply too painful to consider.

No biggie. I'm glad you got it working. I like these roads a lot better than the retail ones.
