New terrain features

As for resources on features I don't think that would be a problem. Plant resources/features would come in early enough to start spreading it in your nation anyway so would be a simple matter for the player to "move" it so the resource would be usable.

But what happens if a subdued animal spawns a resource such a a bison resource on top of say a Banana feature? Do you put a Plantation on it or a Camp?

Is there a promotion line like woodsman for Bamboo? If not, Woodsman line should be applied to Bamboo also.

Note yet. There are a bunch like date palms, swamp, barrel cactus, prickly pear, etc that have no promotion for them yet. The question is should they be applied to existing ones or get new promotions?

Would you mind if the Woddsman promotion got revamped such as ...

Woodsman I = Attack/Defense/Movement to Forest/Jungle
Woodsman II = Attack/Defense/Movement to Bamboo/Date Palm/Coconut Palm
Woodsman III = Attack/Defense/Movement to Barrel Cactus/Prickly Pear/Swamp

Or do you think it should be the existing stats just with Bamboo, Date Palm, Coconut Palm, Barrel Cactus, Prickly Pear and Swamp added?

Or do you think those should be added to other promotions such as ...

Desert Combat III - Adds Prickly Pear and Barrel Cactus Attack/Defense/Movement to it

Wetland Combat III - Adds Swamp Attack/Defense/Movement

I mean where should date palms go under? Desert Combat? Woodsman?

Should we have a separate tropical jungle set of promotions that has jungle/coconuts/date palms?

I don't think dates, coconuts, Prickly Pear and Barrel Cactus are relevant to promotions. But should be to terrain damage.

Bamboo is just another forest/jungle and should be treated the same.

Swamp is just a special Marsh, as is peat bog and originally sword grass (which think should go back there), with mangrove still to come. I need to think more on them. :(

You can't? I thought I made improvements remove bamboo.

Some improvements remove the bamboo; i.e. grain gatherer, but there is no option to burn it and other improvements (fruit gatherer) do not.

I always like to remove all forests from the first circle surrounding my cities so that any invaders do not get defensive bonuses, but Bamboo can't be burned away.

Ah, you meant independent chopping mission. Yeah, currently it doesn't exist. I'll add it. You'll have to wait for v19 or get SVN, though.

@Dancing Hoskuld

I like your new coral terrain feature. Here is an icon/button to match your pink coral.

EDIT: I changed the alpha channel so it looks more like coral and less like wheat.

EDIT2: Nevermind about the model It is showing up white for some reason when in game. :(

You can still use the icon button at least.

Any one got problems with me moving these into the core mod? After I fix the following:-

  • Fix peat bog draining.
  • Get alternate colour terrain out there. In a new thread which is linked to the main C2C page. The new mud path graphic will also be there if it is not included in the main terrain files.
  • Coral into maps.

I need to get all the terrain stuff in one place so I can change it and make the health adjustments currently in the main files a mod. That mod will then be replaced by the disease mod - malaria component.

Could you keep the coral modular for the time being in case if figure out how to solve the texture problem I had for new textures?

EDIT: I solved it! Here you go. Just replace this texture in the Coral folder and it should show up as coral branches rather than pink wheat.

Feel free to add the coral to the core now. :D
