New Thread category?

Attention moderators!!

Nearly half the thread topics on OT are about religion in one way or another. Can there be a seperate catergory for religious threads just like there is for world history?

OT goes through "thread fads" like this every now and again. It's no biggie.

I dislike the idea of 'special interest threads' in here.

It smacks of elitism.

It's not elite but just keeping things together, the same way that the world history thread and the sports threads has all the things that are relevant to them in them.

Well maybe it's just been the flavour of the month then. I'm relatively new to OT so I just assumed that this was a normal amount of religious tpoics so maybe the flavour next month will be politics

Actually Curt with the amount of posts that you do a day maybe you should have your own thread.
I wonder what it should be called? How about 'Curts Shock and Awe' thread?

umm the only movies that I have seen about hill billies is the Beverley Hillbillies and the Deerhunter..... (cold shivers running down back)

Yeah, the flavour of the OT changes fr time to time. There used to be the time when ME threads were the rage, or music threads, or whatever.

Just an idea, they should separate those birthday threads from OT, it's such a common find... a special forum just for birthdays? .... maybe not.

During this recent controversy over splitting up the OT, someone made what might be a sensible compromise solution to this problem, assuming that it IS a problem: A sticky thread for politics and one for religion. I dont see the need personally but it could mollify those with strong feelings about it.

edit: a sticky for birthday salutations could clean up alot of the clutter as well.

Forget it - stickies are only for operational/informative purposes. Too many stickies will make the forum top look crowdy.

I agree. if that idea was followed through 'Shock and Awe' threads would need their own sub forum due to their quantity.
