I only wish I had the equipment to go out and do some sampling of my own, hehe. No, these sounds are mixes of other material. My sources include the Thief series by Eidos, a goodly-sized sound effects cd library, and Civ II and III ofcourse.

That tapping noise ( drawn from the Tree Beasts from Thief) was my attempt to convey the Ents talking to each other over vast distances. I thought it was pretty clever myself, hehe.
 
This unit + these sounds are really decent! You both did a great job guys!
 
Here is a question for ya, how hard would it be to make alt-attacks? One where he is kicking the enemy, another where he throws a large rock at him? If it is not too hard, could you try to make them? :)

You could also use this for like a unit aqquired through the genetics tech:a genetic tree experiment gone horribly horribly wrong...

This may be a little late but for any who need or want to fix the NE Default Flc for Kindred72's Ent unit...here you go. The NE Default Flc was missing a Frame that caused the Ent to Blink Out in that direction.

W00t! This is getting worked into my FF mod probably have to research "geomancy" (to create geomancers), followed by "contact with the treefolk" or something.

unless you want me to tie a ribbon around the old oak tree.

Sorry to bump a relatively ol' thread but would you possibly be interested in modifying or adding attacks to this unit. Maybe making it a little more radially symetrical so a clump of them looks more like a clump of tree-like things rather than units.

For the attack, something like vines whipping about in every direction, or maybe like an electric discharge from the tip of the top canopy (kinda like neural discharges).

Ok let me rephase that. Would you mind If I modified this unit, (giving proper credit ofcourse) to make it look more tree-like than ent-like? Because I desperately need Chaos trees.
 
I think that Kindred would not mind, but he's also not really here much anymore to agree or object. I'd say you'd be safe to modify it, but don't count on him to make the changes.

I'm still around, just out of civ right now, though I need to buy a new conquests disk as mine has gone bad, so that I can play the new WH 2.0 that I've been waiting for.

Feel free to do what you like to my units, just give credit where due.
