New Unit: Greek Archer / Toxotis

I like.

Nifty, nifty!
I've always wanted a more "Greek" alternative to the archer...

Thanks!

I made in Poser out of some net props. Swordsman with this outfit is already done by utahjazz7.

Amazing unit...
Question: When it exactly was include in history?

Sugestion: You could use this "structure" to do anothers archers.
From Rome, Carthage, and Hitites, just by changing details on the helmet and armor. Hannibal used more slingers than archers, but because he didn't get troops from Carthage to try to invade Rome. The army made with carthaginians had an archers division...

Roman: Legionary helmet + silver platemail
Carthage: Point iron hat...
Hitites: No platemail + Grey helmet

It's supposed to replace standard Greek archer (2.1.1).
I won't do other archers, sorry too much work.

the unit toxotoe is an archer form aom (age of mythology) its still a great unit though!

you refer to the name or unit itself? I made the unit in Poser, I'm pretty sure of it ;) while the name is just from greek (it's just "archer" in greek, so I've been told)

Your unit is very nice ... I like it ... I have read that you have been working in Poser to create it , I have a question :

did you use the Poser reduction or are you working with a big format in a drawing programme ? I have troubles at the moment with my first unit in Poser ! I can't manage to reach the high quality of pictures you have ... It would be very helpfull for me if you can explain to me the way you are working ...

:)

Both ways are ok, depends on how you want to work (I used render to big format but now I render directly to 125x125 pixels).

What you work on is just preview. To get quality picture you use Render (or actually "Make Movie" to render all frames). Make sure that "Anti-Alias", "Texture Maps" and "Cast Shadows" are checked in Render Options - these settings are responsible for "quality".

I highly recommend Kinboat's new setup (in Tutorials section). You will get proper angles, shadow etc.
