Btw, if anybody decides to use the name "Tlecuahuitl" in the unit, and I'm sure many of you will be satisfied with "Aztec Musketman", remember that the tlecuahuitl is the weapon... meaning "fire stick" in Nahuatl. So it's probably best that you give him a name like "Tlecuahuitl Guardsman" or "Tlecuahuitl Soldier" "... Warrior", etc.

I don't mean to flood you threads, but I just saw a picture here the other day, the Zulus actually had rifles and used them quite a lot during the zulu wars. What about this as a "rifleman" replacement for the zulus. They also had Sniper units.

Tlecuahuitl generally means firewood, but could as well be fire stick.

Here's some vocabulary from the 16th century Florentine Codex:
tlequiquizhuiloc. he was shot by a gun.
tlequiquiztlalli. gunpowder.
tlequiquiztli. gun; lombard gun.
matlequiquizoani. arquebusier. --> I guess that'd be it.
matlequiquiztli. arquebus.
