I feel bad ending civ 6 on a negative note - I have lots of complaints about its feature bloat, its AI being unable to play the game correctly, etc.

...But I still put about 3500 hours into it (so far!). So I clearly must like it. lol

A DLL release might be a bit late, I think a lot of the modders have moved on

I’d like to take a moment to thank Civ6 modders, you all really saved the game for me

I saw @pokiehl post in this thread, I have a ton of your stuff subscribed, thank you.
Thank you for your kindness! I'm really glad that my mods have helped you enjoy the game more.

Not necessairly. If they release the DLL it would surely attract moders who have either retired or haven't been up to date. And a DLL release would be a wonderful way to keep the game alive until Civ 7's release (or annouacement).

I don't really think so. The idea that the DLL is going to usher in some golden age or be the panacea to everyone's modding woes is misguided--especially this late in the lifecycle.

It would definitely attract me to enter the world of modding more.

I never said a golden age, but I disagree that it would do *nothing*.

I don't think I said it would do nothing so I am confused by your emphasis on that word.

Maybe Gedemon would come back and try to work on his big overhaul. Maybe Infixo would try to work on AI. But for the stuff I'm interested in playing and modding, I don't really care one way or the other (except that theoretical "Better AI" would be nice to have).

Regardless, I don’t anticipate their releasing the DLL for civ 6 ever. They’ve already stated their position (“we currently have no plans” combined with never ever talking about it or hinting it), so the logical thing to do is to believe them.

That was years ago. Plus, they originally never intended to give us a NFP or Leaders Pass. At this point anything is possible, if we're still getting more updates/content, in my opinion.

Remember, all, that releasing the DLL only helps one portion of their fans/users: those on Windows PCs. Yes, that's a huge portion of their fans, but it's not all of them. It doesn't help -- at least, not right away -- users on Mac, Nintendo Switch, or mobile devices (iOS or Android). I expect them to make choices that benefit Civ fans on multiple platforms, as often as they can. I expect the Civ7 whenever it comes will also be multi-platform.

Yes, excellent point that is more relevant than ever.

Legacy got an update. Would it be correct to interpret a release is likely to happen very soon?

Though I had never noticed before legacy specifically requiring to be updated. I thought it happened automatically whenever public gets updated.

It has always happened along with a patch. They keep the previous version of the game on the Legacy build in case there's a rollback or just for QA testing to see if a discovered bug was also on the older build.

I am intrigued by this development. You may also have noticed that Fosse has been quiet since Saturday after a heavy week of updates.

I do tend to think that the patch will happen within the next week.

This just in on the official website:
