Capitalism moved to Tier 2. Good one of the main reasons to take Freeedom

Guess I'll be building Zoos now

England UA change: Again good considering how late their other uniques come in. Not sure about the 50% though

So we can Jungle Plantations earlier, but why do we have to wait till Plastics to get +1 Gold on Dry Planatations?

I agree with pretty much everything on this list, with one exception!

+1 CS for Archers, Composite Bowmen.

I feel their CS is in a good place as it was, they are very vulnerable to melee units and need melee protection.

The Archer maybe I could see, as it will go against the spearmen for quite a while. But the Composite holds itself up well against its cotemporaries imo.

But that's it, otherwise all of this looks good.

Ehm, jungle-plantions were removed ages ago. Not exactly sure what you're talking about.

Also G, great changes. I realized my whine-thread came a little bit late to be of any use for this patch, but please take a look at it anyways.
And as always, thanks for your hard work.

I'm just referring to Plantations that have to have the Jungle cleared.

I was confused by you referring to "dry plantations" later on. But you're talking about those without freshwater access. I honestly don't really see a problem in that, 1 gold is pretty meh, and imho rivers should be useful.

I mentioned this one over in the Bug Reports thread but it stills seems to be problem with this new version - The Grand Temple is not applying doubled religious pressure on nearby cities, that I can see from mousing over the city's tooltip. I'm only playing with CP and not CBP. Thanks again!

G, luxuries right now only provide 1 happiness period, even at later levels (this is in 7/24v3). Is that a bug or intended behavior now?

Luxuries always provide +1 happiness. The Luxury Population Resource Bonus (or whatever it is called) is the multiplier for happiness from luxuries. It's in the top panel tooltip, and that's the value (the base for comparison) that the AI uses to evaluate resources.

Then this luxury population bonus is either bugged or very picky on what it multiplies.
I had 10+ different luxuries with the mult of 5 (which I presume will lead to ~50 happiness bonus from luxuries) but it gave me ~20 happiness.

Haven't looked at the function in a little while, but I know it divides by something, perhaps a set value. It is not so simple as # of lux X variable.

It probably needs a rework however, as it rarely ever increases.

The bonus goes up quite a bit (10-12 happiness by the end of the game, on top of the +1 from each luxury), but if we feel it needs an increase I'll look at it.

G

I just feel like the luxuries are worth just between 1 happiness and 1.5 happiness each, which feels like kinda low for something that's supposed to be the main tradingresource.

I'm not saying the game needs more happiness, but maybe some could be moved from somewhere else?

If it works, though, why change it? Fiddling for fiddling's sake, man.

I guess the question is, are luxuries worth enough at +1 happiness?

This also means the happiness policies are really really good now.

Stalker pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm not saying luxuries needs to be your major source of happiness, but they should be relevant, and at the moment I don't think they are. I pretty much ignore luxuries when settling cities unless the tile itself is fantastic or I have(or get) a monopoly for the resource.

I'm the same way and I agree that Luxuries feel too weak right now. I basically never trade away my excess Luxuries for other Luxuries unless I'm going for the (added by another mod) economic victory which requires you to own them all, and even then I only do it to win that. It's just a lot more valuable to get the gold instead of the meager Happiness boost.

I feel that Luxuries should be one of your primary Happiness sources. This encourages trade, which encourages diplomacy, gold spending and expansion while discouraging warmongering (or at least making it harder) - all positive effects for the game.
