Newb cant load a GOTM

Ive never loaded a GOTM before. Im using version 1.27f of Civ 3 Gold edition. I placed the .sav file in the ptw saves folder. When I load it I get this error message:

"Missing entry in "text/Pedialcons.txt" ANIMENAME _turghaut_Cavalry."

Any ideas??

Did you follow any of the instructions for the game you want to play? You need to visit http://gotm.civfanatics.net/ to get the low-down on the game and its pre-requisites, and to select the right start file. There's a reference list in one of the stickies near the top of this forum giving file download links as well as page and thread links relating to each game.

The unit referred to in your error first appeared in GOTM 25, so I asume you want to play one of gotm 25 - 28. You will need to install the various mod packs for gotm 25 for PTW as specified on the game intro page. If you want to play 28 or 29 (the next one) you must also add the pediaicons.txt file bundled with the start file. Note that the closing date for 28 is today and 29, the new one starting tomorrow, will also need the gotm 25 setup files. There's no start file available for 29 yet.
