Can anyone tell me what exactly happens when you built a Wonder that acts as a city improvement for a number of cities?

For instance, if you built the Hoover Dam, what happens to the Hydro Plants that have already been built on that continent? Do they simply disappear, or is the effect cumulative? And if they disappear, do you automatically get their worth reimbursed in gold or not? Thanx.

       :lol:any new wonders will of course cancel the effects of any previous wonders and noalthough i wish you did you do not get re-imbursed the gold of an old wonder when the new one takes effect.

Yes, but I didn't mean what happens to the old wonders. What I want to know is what happens with the existing city improvements that seemingly become obsolete through the effects of certain wonders, such as the Hoover Dam.

The improvements that already exist (hydro plants), would just become free (no upkeep costs). No, you don't get re-imbursed for them, or get double the effects of them. So either don't build them at all, if you know you'll get the wonder for it, or sell them off one turn before finishing the wonder (you won't get much money at all for them though).

You can sell the existing improvements made free by the wonder even after the wonder is built. i.e any existing barracks can be sold once Sun Tzu's is built, same for existing Hydro plants once Hoover is built.
