I know that it probably is related with MODS, but is there any easy way to make cities look bigger?

If there isn't, which MOD do it well?

Thanks.

Most mods try to keep the city size in-line with the standard, but Snoopy's Terrain version 4 has a very large graphic for the "metropolis" size city. If you have PTW, it's included in the Scenarios folder. If not, you can get it from the thread in the Graphics Modpack Forum.

Near the bottom of the page is an 'upload file' link. Click on that and follow the instructions....

does anybody here no where to set active player in the civ3 edit

I'm playing through Civ3 w/PTW for the first time, so yes I am a newbie. As soon as I hit the Modern Age, green mounds appeared on many squares on the map, and I don't have a clue what they are. They are not the normal orange pollution squares; they don't seem to detract from city production; they make no difference to the terrain description. Are these some kind of indication of the level of global warming, or just a graphics glitch, or something else?

You can see one such blob on a screenshot in the gallery on Civfanatics site at http://www.civfanatics.com/civ3images/gallery1/screenshot105.shtml, so at least I know it's not just on my system.

Holysinner, welcome to CFC :)

That's the fortress graphic for the modern era. Fortresses change graphics with each age and that green monstrosity is what firaxis chose for modern times :)

According to the civilopedia, rail increases the output of irrigation and mines, but can someone tell me by how much ?

Is it the same irrespective of the original terrain ?

(I was going to try to look this up in the FAQ link at the top of this thread , but I got the following

As far as I am aware I should be able to see the FAQ since I have

Rail adds one IIRC. So if irrig is +1, rail adds another one to +2.

So plains is 1/1
plains plus irrig is 2/1
plains plus irrig plus rail is 3/1
plains plus mine is 1/2
plains plus mine plus rail is 1/3

etc....

I also had the same error, but just checked back and it is indeed fixed.

Sir Clive,

The link was out of date, the FAQ thread was changed. I have now edited the correct links in to the first post.

Sir Clive,
you should be able to enter the actual FAQ thread (and others) even when you are not logged in. The message you got appears when you try to edit another member's post, for example.
But I guess you followed an invalid link to the faq. Maybe there are still links to the old faq that had been removed recently.

You may have more luck with this question in the creation and customization (sic) forum.

Build only one or five cities respectively ;)

Seriously, it's not a game-selected victory type but rather a "variant" where you choose to limit yourself, so playing an OCC or 5CC is simply starting a game and limiting yourself to one or five cities. As to how to win at OCC or 5CC, that's another story :)

Charis has written a strategy article on 5CC: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44458

Not sure if there's a specific writeup for OCC, but the best places to look for pointers are the Strategy Forum, Notes on any OCC (or 5CC) Succession Games in that forum, and possibly some GOTMs. Others may have specific links to pointers on being successful playing those variants.

I want to reassign some citizens where I want them and I also want the governor to manage moods. But it seems like when I reassign the citizens, the governer stops managing moods too. I s there any way around this?
Thanks

Not that I know of, Vincenzo. By definition, "govern moods" means you're giving the computer the ability to hire entertainers, and (I think) to maximize commerce, which will increase luxuries.
