If you kill the AI and have turned off conquest you could get 512 cities all for yourself. ;)

AFAIK, there is no limit for your own cities. :)

Bratboy, its 512, granted the AI only has settlers :)

Concerning war weariness I have noticed some strange occurences I'd call war weariness in reverse. I'm struggling to keep my citizens happy with just one luxury and spending 10% on entertainment. Then when Hammurabi declares war on me I no longer need to spend the 10%. It seems my citizens are instantly happier. Two turns later I still had yet to mount an offensive but had successfully defended one city under Babylonian attack and had killed a dozen or so Babylonian units in my territory, while losing three units of my own. At this point three of my cities are actually celebrating "We love the king!" Anyone else experience this?

If your winning the war with minimul lost's to your troops and a large lost on the enemy then your people can get even happier... Also depending on what goverment your on makes a differance (In Monarchy and Communism sometimes the people get happier when you declare war :))

That's not true exactly true Strider, 'reverse WW' is not caused by the number of troops lost or killed. ;)

marceagleye,

This is called the Traditional Enemy effect (named I think by Gothmog). When yopu first go to war with a civ and they declare war on you, they become your 'traditional enemy'. This means that every subsequent time you are at war with them you will get a happiness bonus because you nation is happy fighting their mortal enemies, they are happy you are crushing their skulls!

Note that if the first time you go to war if you are the agressor they will subsequestly get the 'traditional enemy' boonus.

You can tell if a civ is classed as a traditional enemy because in the diplo screen your advisor will say something like 'I don't think we should trust them, they've attacked us before'.

Disclaimer: I am not 100% certain on the conditions for the subsequesnt wars. You may get this bonus every time of just when they declare on you again, maybe someone else can clear this up.

Ok this wasn't my first encounter with them. Much earlier in the game I declared war on them but didn't sustain the war. It happened when one of their settlers built a new city whose immediate borders claimed two tiles that were already in my territory. The AI is not at all shy about squeezing a city into your territory. Anyway I declared war, destroyed the citybuilt too close for comfort, then signed a peace treaty. I was Alexander and had a Despotism at the time I declared war, but I discovered Republic that very same turn. I didn't destroy the city until two or three turns later, but was still under anarchy when I signed the peace treaty.

I thought traditional enemies started after the third war. Is that not true?
I thought that "war happiness" due to fighting a traditional enemy can start with the second war. But it might also depend on attitudes, rep hits or who started war.

How do you cancel orders in the queue without wait for them and manually changing production?

Click on the order and press Delete. It might be shift-delete. I'll have to check when I get home.

Thanks. I'll bet shift delete because I tried a lot of things before.

Shift-delete to clear the list, or just delete to get rid of a single entry.

You can also enter an item in to the list mid way by highlighting an entry in the list and then adding a new item.

Geez.

All this time I was pressing DELETE to do the whole list, and I could have just done "SHIFT-DELETE"

ok fine, since noone answered my question on the "faq" thread ill ask here.

how do i install scenarios on ptw? do i just make a folder with the name and then extract it there?
coz im trying to install womoks standard terrain and i cant seem to get it to work :(

^Qudos,

Normally there is a .bix file which must go directly in the scenarios folder to be recognised.

If there are additional files these must go in a sub-directory from the scenarios dir, and it must be called the right name for the .bix file to recognise it. Usually the sub-dir name is the same as the mane of the .bix file.

For example, if the .bix is called "womak.bix" te sub-dir with the other files in would normally be called "womak", and placed in the scanarios dir.

If this doesn't help you should PM Womak, since he will be able to tell you for sure. I am suprised that there are not instructions on how to install included in the download.

Also, this is the best place to ask these questions since more people watch this thread and answer questions here. :)

Are you talking about a graphics mod or a scenario here? If it's a graphics mod then there will be no bix or bic.

Can you provide a link to the thread with this download please? I'll have a look and let you know what's going on.
