If I have an MPP, and I have to declare a war against a civ, would I get a rep hit for signing peace with that civ asap?

(1) Does the number of each type of lux resource equals the number of civs in a game?

(2) How can I het rid of the throne room?

Has the capturing of workers changed in PTW?
They seem to magically transport, i.e. disappear (maybe to capitol?)

This seriously meddles with my tactic of leaving them out as bait! :)

@DaviddesJ: The replay takes a *long* time to load, sometimes the show starts two-five minutes after I click Play.
@blahz: it 's alright as long as you have caused some damage to that civ during that time.
@Ultraworld: look at appearance ratio's in the editor. If it sais 16, there will be 1.6 lux for each civ. If you mean the Palace extensions, just dismiss the "The People love you" box whenever it appears by clicking Esc. It will not re-appear after a few times. I don't think there is another way. Or make sure they don't love you:).
@tomart: I don't have ptw, so I wouldn't know, but I noticed a change when I upgraded to 1.29f vanilla. Now you need to first capture the worker and then the city.

For lux all those values are set to 0????????????????
I thought app-ratio meant "1 out of x" that a resourse will appear.

I did not move my galley for some turns now, but it does not heal. It is outside enemy borders. How do I heal ships?
Ships can only be repaired in harbours. Maybe also in any coastal city, but I'm not sure about that. They certainly can't be mended while at sea.

Thanks Alan. It makes sense when you think about it. I managed to sail home somehow, and noticed that you need a harbour. But then it heals completely in one turn!

DaviddesJ, when you first click the 'Play' button you have to wait for the game to load before it dispays, on larger maps and slower PC's this can take a very long time ( > 30 min )

Hello, I have checked a couple FAQ's about this but no luck, so maybe I am overlooking a simple solution...

I just got Civ3, and am a Civ2 veteran. My favorite map in civ2 was always the earth map. So the earth map was the first I tried in civ3. However, unlike civ2, in civ3 I can not get the diffrent civilizations to start in their real world locations, such as the english starting near the real-world London. It always just starts in the same spot, irregardless of the start-game settings I change.

How do I accomplish this in Civ3? Thanks in advance, everyone.

You would have to go into the Civ3 map editor, load up the earth map, right click on the desired location(s), and set it/them to the Civilisation(s) that you wish to start there.

They will heal in any coastal city, but a harbor will heal them faster. It's analagous to a land unit in a city with or without a barracks.

30 min? Yikes. Even on my sub-requirements system I've never had to wait more than 5 min for the replay to startup, although I know better than to play larger-than-huge maps on this guy.

If you are one turn away from completing the United Nations in an undefended city, and a barbarian walks right in, is there still a chance that all those shields would be lost? There probably is, which would suck if that happened!

Yeah, there is. One of the things barbs can do is destroy production.

Of course, by the time you're making the UN, you should have taken care of all the barbs.

The above answer was at least partially incorrect/misleading. As far as I'm aware, the function of the MPP is to bring you into war under certain circumstances. I don't *think* you have to actually do damage before it ends in order to avoid a rep hit; in other words, I'm pretty sure you can sign peace whenever you want without that causing a problem in an of itself (someone please correct me if I'm wrong). However, as long as the MPP is still in place, you will wind up drawn right back into the war as soon as the right conditions are met again, thus breaking the peace treaty you just signed. *That* will definitely ruin your rep.

Yes!!!!!!!
How do you get your units to look like that? Looks great. How can I do it myself?

Gentlemen,
Not a newbie question, but might fit here:

The domination victory is 2/3 of world population, and 2/3 of the world's land area within my borders. This seems a bit high to me, as i often command a solid Power lead (as shown off the histogram screen - more than all the other civs put together) as well as the tech lead, the culture lead, all the best wonders, geographic dominance, and i'm the only one with cavalry.
I've been having fun running roughshod over the few small weak remaining civs, and now their pillaged, decimated and resource-starved remnants beg for peace...
But: Mapstat says i still need 379 more tiles.

(Population i've got, as i collect workers wherever i go...) :)

Rather than hours more tedious expansion and carnage, is there a way in the editor to adjust the domination percentage, say, to 50?
Or have a Power majority be a factor?

What if i don't want to kill any more? I want we should all just get along, and acknowledge my dominance without more death and destruction...

Thanks in advance, for your advice.

Errr... I've never heard of that possibility. Check the customization subforum, maybe you'll find something there.

:lol::goodjob: Good question.

:hmm:
I guess they got a bad cold from their cool legs/feet. So the improved defender version "infantry" comes with gaiters... ;)
