This evil map resulted in some very close results. And carracks weren't as good as I thought, I will have to try another crack at them. :mischief:

Domination dates: 1826, 1852, 1880
Diplomatic win dates: 1884, 1948
Spaceship dates: 1943, 1961, 1974, 1983, 1985, 2005 (loss), 2013 (loss)
Conquest date: 1940
No Cultural or Religious victories.

Xcalibrator won fastest domination and his second gold medal, beating neilmeister who had a cow with a mere .999588% of Xcal's score! neil missed out on a fourth gold and fourth ephtahlete by 60 points. Try again next time. ;) And Jovan got only his 2nd low score domination award with only these three entries.
hhhawk had fastest diplo win to accompany his bronze medal.
UB40 got his fifth fastest conquest and his fifteenth low scoring conquest with the only conquest.
DS who only gets to play half the games and always goes to space got his seventh fastest space award in the closest and most contested category.

neil missed out on a fourth gold and fourth eptathlete by 60 points.
Well, golly, that was a little close. Sorry, neil, I feel bad. But since you already have 3 shiny gold statues (they do mail them to you, right?) maybe it won't cause you too much pain. :mischief: Thanks, DH, that was fun (but time consuming!).

Hmm, has there ever been an exact tie for a medal?

Oh, and I have no idea if that was the closest finish ever. Nor how to check (other than looking thru all results). Seems like it probably was. :hmm:

Very close affair overall, also across different win conditions. Congrats to all the winners, and all who submitted finished games too for that matter. I did not.

140 hours! That's a bit

neil addressed that before: he leaves the game running on his computer.
I do that too sometimes, but I put it in pause, which I assume causes it not to count the time?
steam certainly counts all the time a game is active, whether paused or not

Do that from time to time as well, but usually remember to hit Pause, especially for long breaks from the game.

Ha... my computer overheats regularly.... it is the integrated graphics card plus 5yrs accumulation of dust. Mostly I just have to keep it outdoors in -15C weather and then I can let it run 4ever. Needless to say, I blame my mediocrity on my mittens. So please understand why my games look like a combination of all thfree factors.:borg::borg::borg:

60 points!!! Damn, that's as close as it gets!

Well done Xcal, I was certainly milking it for score... I think just 1 more city with 1 more pop might have been enough... next time!

Wow! Well, I don't want to rub salt into any wounds or anything, and would never dream of saying anything like 'I told you so' because obviously I'm not that kind of person.

But.... but...

Oh what the heck!

I won fastest space! And I did it without building any carrack the entire game! Those carracks that I said in the pre-game discussion I thought weren't going to be very useful... Didn't build any. Not a single one. None. Zilch.

Not that I want to hurt anyone's feelings or anything like that...

(To be fair, I suspect carracks could have been useful for people going for conquest. Possibly even domination. And even for space, they may have been a bit useful for anyone who didn't have scientists lined up to bulb astronomy once you had optics).
