This game saw a decisive return to the Civ4 ‘tradition’ of military victories dominating the top scores, with the medals going to conquest, domination, and another conquest. srad managed the double achievement of gold medal and fastest conquest (1295AD), with Tachywaxon and -Asterix- taking silver and bronze.

The lure of the food clearly proved too much, with almost everyone settling in place. I was quite surprised that noone was tempted by the 3-food + silver hill, and only one person went for the silver at all.

The Small Print:
The numbers by each player's name indicate the turn settled on (starting turn is 0). Players are colour coded by game class (challenger=red, adventurer=blue). Symbols indicate victory condition, if there's no symbol then the player either retired or was defeated. The yellow border indicates the land that was visible at the start of the game.

I can't believe I got what I wanted from the beginning: a medal...and the silver medal.
Yeah, I can win non-HoF games.

Anyways, srad proved to me (indirectly) that early and extensive rush isn't necessarily ultimate power. Great lesson I learnt and now I understand what mister obsolete wanted to mean early rush necessity is a newb way of thinking.

Congrats to the winners and I hope to have a completed game for next BOTM. I took 2 big risks early and lost a settler to a warrior who killed my fortified warrior by the copper and the replacement city by the copper to an archer. Then I lost interest when england settled it. Oh well, next time england.

You can get awards by using the "hit em where they ain't" approach. That got me an unimpressive (or maybe downright pathetic) diplo award in this one.
