News: BOTM 59 -- Starts October 15

In a normal game it takes while after barbarians appear before they enter a civ's territory, if I recall correctly. What happens to the barb spears in the southwest if the Adventurer-level settler settles in place? Do they move out? or attack anyway because they're already inside the borders?

The barb behavior is determined by the unit scripts, which follow certain rules when barb units are created by the game engine. OTOH, for barb units that the mapmaker has created, those rules may or may not be F(iddle)'d-with.*

*Never trust a mapmaker.

Will the lowly human be able to make peace with the Mongol Horde even though they start out at war and with the -100 diplo? Testing indicates that peace is possible unless always war has been selected (perhaps a locked anti-alliance)?

I'm not sure how the human can 't win even by Conquest or time without settling a city? This won't appear to be a problem but it makes me wonder how... Someone alluded before about a civ perhaps behind mountains or on an island? Anyone else have any ideas about a setting that could be checked to make this necessary?
I'm thinking perhaps a city on an island would mean you'd have to settle a city to build a Galley/galleon, unless of course there is one Goody Hut on the shore that will give a Galley! :goodjob:
