Hmmm, don't like the volcano so close to the capitol. also looks like tundra to the south if we settle in place. scout north and might wander the settler that way if i see something i like. settle on the north shore of the lake keeping the cow inside city radius.

Hmm, this looks like two floodplains SE. Settling 1N would loose these as well as the extra commerce from the river. (And I think it would also loose the extra food that agricultural civs have in the city center?! Or do we get that as well when settling on a lake instead of a river? I think not, but not completely sure. I'm sure that lake does not give the 1 extra commerce in city center.)

In any case, if we stay in place, we have +5 food (3 in city center as we are agricultural and on river, 1 from the cow and 1 from the fish), so a 4-turner can be set up easily.

Nah, that's tundra, not flood plains.

I'd be tempted to slide southwest to 1) get away from the volcano, and 2) maybe leave a city spot N-N of the current location.

Probably dumb though and ought to just settle in place.

I definitely need a new monitor... (Still have a 9 year old CRT here at this place.)

It's a difficult call, but I'd support the tundra theory on the grounds that we have a cool world.

Can I still download this or is it too late?

I'm definitely going to look before settling, but we're on Pangaea, so I doubt that it is salty.

I think I'll send the worker to the cow and the scout north before deciding where to settle.
