News: TSG 61 Announcement

Hi, I just joined your community... I'm an experienced BtS player, bought Civ5 a month ago and did some games, but didn't finished. I think this will be a great Achievement to win my first game :)
Anyone knows how to make Screenshots in Civ 5?

Welcome to CFC and GotM!

If you wish to take a screencap in civ5 there are several methods. One is using Steam's user interface and the other is using either a windows or mac based method. There is nothing particular to Civ5 when taking screenies but CFC forums have certain file types/sizes required and they can be found in the FAQ here.

In a culture game when you get an early culture hut it is like an easy 25 turn bonus. Its nearly essential for a format like HOF to get an early culture hut, while in this format I think it better to not include them.

THX, I managed my steam to take pictures, played and wrote my first 111 Turns down in the Opening Actions Thread... I enjoyed the first 111 Turns but I don't think I will break any record ;)

Wonders of the Ancient World is in this game and is required to play the start save.[/URL]

I'll be missing out on this GotM, as I don't have the DLC. :( I don't feel like paying 4 EUR for three world wonders. Is this just a one-time inclusion or do you plan to have WotAW for all/most GotM in the future?

Otherwise the settings are very nice and should make for an interesting game. Hf!

We include dlc at times in order to spice up the game and allow those who purchased it to use it. It will not be standard fare.

I understand the sentiment - fair enough. Thanks for the info. Who knows, maybe I'll end up buying the DLC just to participate in GotM :)

no ruins, I will play this :)
Good production start, 2 stable and 2 mine gives 14+3(palace) production, you can start with GL/NC and get it for 'sure'

Just watch for STEAM sales. I got all the dlc for about $15.00 in one of their sales.

Memorial Day in the US (27 May) is always a good time for a sale. Keep your eyes peeled. :scan:

I appreciate it. For the longest time I had all the DLC except WotAW. I thought $5 for 3 wonders?

But then I thought, it is only $5... and I waste $5 on a lot of other stuff so why not?

I'm glad I bought it as I now have a soft spot for Temple of Artemis. :mischief:

I've just been getting the hang of King, so this game is perfect for me. Although culture isn't my favorite, and it's an odd choice for my first game with the Huns. It's also my first Game of the Month.

My current list of Hun cities, in case you don't want to steal city names from other civs.

Pannonian

Saint Martin (Tapioszentmarton, Attila's court)
Wolf Castle (Ulcisia Castra, Szentendre, Saint Andrew, Sanandrea)
Segedi (Partiscum Castra, Szeged, S(z)egedin)
Buda (Ak-Ink, Sicambria, Aquincum, renamed after Bleda)
Corneşti (Saden, Szadany)

Caspian

Balanjar (Belenjer; Varachan)
Samandar (Semender, Msndr; Tarki, Targu)
Hungars (Chungars)
Mondr
Olugbender (Ulug Bender)
Derbent (Derbend)
Haidak (Hamzin)
Ranhaz (Rnhs)

The Huns did not only make war. In fact, even under Attila they were mostly at peace with their neighbours.

Although the Huns were seemingly primitive pastoralists, they did maintain a distinct, multifaceted society. The frontier along the Danube became the site for trade, where the Huns obtained silk and wine through annual fairs. Slaves captured in battle helped to define this civilization by bolstering the economy, whether it be through the strong output of their menial labor or through the slave sales market in Rome. Hunnic art added an interesting dimension to the culture as well. Art was expressed in the forms of bronze cauldrons and vessels. Hunnic women donned the latest in necklaces and bracelets, the jewels being anything from coral, carnelian, mother-of-pearl, quartz, pyrite, lapis and even Egyptian paste, which may have been obtained through their nomadic travels.
