Wargamer.com has written preview articles for many war-related games displayed in this year's E3. Their Civ3 preview mainly focued on the new concepts of trade and diplomacy, which were discussed in all other Civ3 previews. However, the preview has two points that are inconsistent with other Civ3 previews.
Wargamer wrote that "Civilization III will feature 16 civilizations out of the box and current plans are that all 16 will be playable on the same map, either as human multi-player opponents or quite adept Artificial Intelligence (AI)." We should note that there is no official word on the max number of Civs in a Civ3 game. Some previews said Civ3 would still have 7 Civs in a game, while one preview said Civ3 would allow a max of 8 Civs. So don't get too excited by the number 16...
The second inconsistency is about the number of advisors in Civ3. Wargamer wrote "Civilization III also expands on roles and capabilities of the now 16 advisors available to the player". There is no way Civ3 would have 16 advisors because Civ2 had only 5. It's apparently a typo.
