though it looks like they are not going Calvary with the Mongols this time

I think they just didn't want to put horses in the teaser, because that would be even more obvious.

So now, what becomes of the Genghis Khan Great General? I bet they rename it Subutai.

I'm pretty sure I saw a ger in the encampment during that screenshot though as like a stable replacement. Mongolia not having some kind of cavalry or horse ability wouldn't seem right. There wasn't a mention of the Hwacha either in Korea's teaser.

Hmm it's probably the Pallas cat like someone above said, so Mongolia?

This is Caucasian wildcat

It's the Mongols.

Mongols used recurve bows.

Well, not necessarily. Do the bows curve east? Or to the west? Traditionally, a mongolian bow is made with its curve bending to the west.

I believe an eastern curve would be pheonician. And pheonicians were fond of cats too, introducing them to the egyptians.

A new sneak peek so . . .

My guess it's Morioh led by Kira Yoshikage because he has cat like stand and stray cat, His father has magical arrow and shot it at random people

Just kidding and ignore that, my guess is either Mongols or Georgia
The Mongols were famous for their archery but the archer clothing it's not like Mongols

So the one sour point in all of this is that this will be the last FL for several weeks, given the holidays. :(

A funky looking cat, a blacksmith forging an arrow, and an archer with a recurve bow.

It's the Mongols.

Genghis Khan was buried with 6 cats.

His given name Timujin means blacksmith.

Mongols used recurve bows.

Well, then we have now 2 cavalry civilizations. Actually I didn't think they would include the mongols after scythia. However, since Korea is also included,
maybe there is a scenario planned which needs them.

The Scythians are more Classical Era, where the Mongols are probably Medieval Era. There's room for a couple of variants, as proven by Civ V having Mongols and Huns.

Looks like it missed Georgia. :shifty:

spread of Pallas cat, which does indeed indicate Mongolia, northern China and Bukhara territory (but the Caucasian wildcat has different spread of course).
