NHL 2011-2012 season thread

Seems like Nashville is set to add another solid player to their line-up, namely Radulov returning to the NHL.

Not NHL related, but I'm not going to make a new thread for this since its somewhat related and not that important. :p

The CIS University Cup (hockey championship for Canadian universities) starts tomorrow and goes through to Sunday here in Fredericton, and I've got tickets to all but one of the games. :yeah:

The teams are:

New Brunswick Varsity Reds (yay!)
McGill Redmen
Saskatchewan Huskies
Western Mustangs
Moncton Aigles Bleus
UQTR Patriotes

As a student at UNB, I'm sure you can guess who I'll be supporting. :p

Apparently not the hockey team. They made the finals last year as well but lost to UNB.

No Gee-gees, therefore I care not :-p

'Canes just shut them out too... which is a feat in itself with our D.

Isles get back to back 5-3 victories over the Pens, too bad they'll probably lose Parenteau. I would like to thank them for helping the Rangers secure home ice advantage.

Did Crosby take a puck to the face? Ouch... I know their fans freaked out  .

Sens actually made the playoffs this year... I'm a total sports homer, and even I was 100% sure they were going to finish dead last. Will probably buy some tickets for the first round.

A+

So, this girl in my math class and I had a conversation about the Red Wings. She's convinced that they are already chocking now and won't make it past the first round of the playoffs. However, I think they are just resting up for the playoffs, considering the last few games they had were utterly meaningless in the long run (the next, final, three games, featuring matches against the division leader and our main rival, seem a little more important, though).

Now, it is true that they should had easily won the last three games, but only won one of them in overtime. However, they already clinched an extremely high seed and the foes weren't any big rivals such as the Blackhawks or the Avalanche. So, what are your thoughts?

That's Quebec selflessness, we generously tradeed place with the Sens :-p

My experience, Omega, is that you can never discount the Red Wings, although that's speaking as someone who's barely even seen them play this year.

Whoooo, Leafs (and Isles, and Wild, and Ducks) are finally no longer a threat to our draft lottery spot. That would have been the extreme kick in the nuts, managing to go from 2nd-3rd to 6th-7th, as was still possible up til tonight.

*Waves Edmonton banners*
Anaheim, Minnesota, New York, NOW you need to lose.
Toronto, keep on winning.

EDIT: Toronto, forget I said that. I just remembered who you're playing next (and last)
