Haven't posted or viewed the fanatics site for almost two years now. Tried out CIV 4, didn't like it so I'm back to good ol' CIV 3. In fact, I'm even older school; I moved, changed computers, and lost my CIV Conquests stuff, so succumbing to impulse shopping, I bought the vanilla CIV 3 at Target. I like it better. I never was much for the Medieval Infantry. I like just using Longbowmen; but in trying to stay somewhat updated, does anyone know where to get a Windows Vista/7 desktop icon for CIV 3? The old one looks weird now; small and little outline box around it. Also, since my new computer is a laptop instead of a piece of %$#%$ Compaq desktop and not wanting to be banished from this website for transgressions, (I know it's not kosher), I tried making an ISO of the vanilla CIV 3 disc and load it virtually but it was a no-go. I'm not trying to rip anyone off ~ the disk cost only ten bucks, but it would be nice not to carry this laptop around with the CIV disc in it all the time (until my latest CIV Rush abates). Hope to hear from some of you. SB644 :crazyeye:

I think that there was a hack to get around the disc requirement, but I suspect that there is a snowball's chance in Hell (Biblical not Norse) that it will work with Windows 7. I use a Mac laptop and do not even have the option. I normally carry the Civ3 Complete disc, and all three Age of Empire III discs with me, depending on what game I feel like playing. You do what you have to do.

I figured there wasn't a workaround for the disc. However, I'm almost depressed that I can't find a Vista/7 icon for CIV 3; there's some really nice ones for CIV 4 though. Happy Halloween to all fanatics! SB644
