OK... I'm playing the Mercurians (set playable = 1). I've had four scouts killed thus far and absolutely NO angels turned up!!! This has never happened to me playing standard FfH. What gives? Don't the Mercurians get angels in Orbis when a unit dies?

It only does so if the Mercurian Gate has been built already. Of if the Infernal Pact has been researched, for Infernals.

So, basically, Orbis has removed the possibility of playing the Mercurians from the start of the game since, unlike the Infernals, they cannot build warriors... Why the change from standard FfH?

I don't know :(
Spoiler :
But I don't play them from the start anyway...

What Valkrionn said, there is a reason in summoning them later, plus they are balanced to take that into acount.

I did not mean to limit it further, but implemented some Xienwolf changes I liked by the way I did other things.
So, you can play them from the start if you want. But you are on your own.

They may be overpowered, but matching them against the Infernals in a "hotseat" game (my wife claims I have multiple personalities!! :crazyeye:) sure is a LOT of fun (each has another good/evil civ with which to partner). I always permit them to produce scouts from the start so that they can get some angels (and my wife insists that angels should be able to fly !!). I guess it's no big deal because, in looking at the python, it only requires the removal of a single line of code.
