No menu is appearing

Everytime I start Civilization IV, it seems to fail to load the menu or something. It basically stops when the world appears (the world keeps spinning and the BG music keeps playing). There's no menu or anything that's visible, but sometimes when I click around on the screen I manage to click on one of the "invisible" buttons.

I've got no idea why this is happening..
And I think my computer meets the recommended system requirements =/

I had this problem and I install 1.09 patch, at least menu problem was resolved.

I had this problem to start with, I installed the latest drivers and it sorted it. Give it a try
