The problem isn't that people who play higher difficulties post too many threads. The problem is that people who play lower difficulties don't post enough. I've never encountered a rule that you have to be able to beat emperor before you can post on the forum. So don't complain, join in.

Yes, with enough arrogance, especially if it's implied in one's handle, it's possible to post while being @ or below noble level . I must admit I lurked for 2-3 weeks while I was just getting my feet wet with basics, though. Specific questions are much easier for the community to answer.

I just have to say that, in terms of time spent lurking, I am hardly a newb. I started here years ago. In terms of skill and understanding the game, I freely admit I'm a total noob.

Regardless, these forums are without a shadow of a doubt the nicest and most intelligent forums I have ever seen in my 13 or so years of being a forum rat on various internet forums of many varieties. I am constantly impressed by how helpful and well-spoken... um... written that vast majority of posters are here.

You'll also see that most of the posters have hundreds or thousands of posts. One can hardly expect people like that to stagnate when it comes to their challenge level. They can't help but improve, and try new things. Don't let that deter you Comrade, it should encourage you. I'm constantly learning here, and although I don't always get everything I read, I get a little more of it every time I try. And soon, I'll start posting saves and screeners, because I know to analyze what I'm doing wrong, more specifics are needed. I'm just glad that here, those sorts of things are actually welcome.

I joined in August 2007 and had around 10 posts in my first few months here. Then, I started to increase in difficulty and I was posting more. I do wish I posted more when I was a noble player since it would have definitely helped me a lot.

Well, most players with a high post count have a pretty good grasp of the game. But then again I think TroytheFace has like 2300 posts....

Unless of course they box you out of iron, that is .

Edit: I find it hard to believe that an AI that can build a longbow/turn easily in any city would struggle to stop a player's prats on quick. I did G major 51 and that was pretty difficult on normal. How would you actually nail a deity AI down using prats on quick? You'd have trouble taking more than 1-2 cities before they'd be swarming you, even if you cooked the leaders.

I didn't have much problems crushing the AI's in G-major 51 at least...
