I tried this map again, after playing it in 2019, when I didn't know even about settling on plain Marble hill...
Lain's Deity play recording is quite helpful to compare. My main mistake was settling 2nd city ~T50, while Lain did it ~T35, starting building a Settler at the capital size 3. Also he settled 2nd city remote - which is better because food sharing is not good for early growing capital, capturing independent food surplus is more beneficial.
Also I invested in early cottages, while Lain first built farm. So instead of Pottery => Mining => BW I repeated Lain's AH => Mining => BW. We have Gold for research and mines for failgold. And 4F flood plains are nice for Settler / Worker production vs 3F cottage. So I even built more farms than Lain.
Also he did Great Lib & National Epic, which was quite insightful. In my IMM game I failgold ~ 1000G to T124 and built Oracle, Great Lib, National Epic, Hanging Garden, Parthenon (in a different city). And almost finished Moai (will get lots of failgold!). The capital has +24 GPpt now, I don't see the need for Pacifism with such setup, with 2 GS I bulbed Astro. Lain avoided Math for ealier Astro, for IMM I did Math as few later wonders I did with the help of forest.
Now I met 3 first AIs, got Monarchy / Calendar, hope for Currency and need to plan setteling an empty island or wage war...
The question is: should I persue Music in 6T (Literature is not yet known by 3 AIs I met), if I have Great Engineer & Prophet (they have been sent for scouting AIs land)... It has great trade value, but maybe I need to plan conquest instead...
