None Shall Pass 2 [Game Thread - Concluded]

You accuse the slayer of Morgoth to be anti-town?

Winston, Spaceman and Sprig have all claimed that their VC were to eliminate the opposite "cult" and the Morgothians and that they could win with the town. As the empire is out, only the followers of Morgoth have to be afraid of the Jedi. Vote:azzaman333

I'm saying we've got someone who has killed multiple townies who everyone seems to want to declare as being 100% innocent and we should leave them alone.

Well, that's interesting. The Jedi Order clearly aren't Town, but they may be pro-town. Morgoth appears/ed to have his own cult, given that Jar-Jar was a servant without a cover role.

If the slayer of Morgoth doesn't need the Town to win, then we can hardly rely on them to protect the town, given that they are only serving their interests in attacking Morgoth.

As the empire is out, only the followers of Morgoth have to be afraid of the Jedi.

And given that is essentially the same argument that the Empire used (and were lynched for it), I'm wondering why the Jedi Order should now be given a pass, as we still have only their word that they're not anti-town.

Vote: Christos200. You're still being terribly vague about your ability. If you really have nothing to hide, given that you've now 'proved' yourself to be a scanner, why not reveal the actual details? It's not as if Morgoth's faction don't already know, right?

You're going to have to be more detailed. You said "the same as yesterday" but yesterday your scan was on someone from the Empire. The empire is now dead. So it can't be "the same". I need more clarification before I trust your scan.

It's also strange how you seem to be getting a positive result every night. That is pretty lucky, wouldn't you say?

It begs the question with all of these different killers appearing, different people dying, etc: how many factions are there? We have confirmed: Town, Empire (now eliminated), Morgoth, and Jedi. And there are three killers now with no confirmed connection to any faction...

I'm guessing, barring Serial Killers or other singular factions, we've probably got at least 4 if not 5 without counting the town. The Imperials and the affiliated Jedi make up two factions alone in Star Wars. I initially wondered if Morgoth was in a similar arrangement, but the flip last night put that to rest. Granted, Jar Jar being scum isn't particularly surprising to anyone. Morgoth being the central antagonist doesn't care about the thematic divide, which leaves a pretty big void on the LOTR side of things. If there's some kind of symmetry to all this, we'd have two factions nested there. There must be at least one, even if we assume the Warrior is a vigilante (which I'm inclined to).

Well, we haven't seen any Dwarves yet, the only (half-) Elf was a cover identity (Elrond) and no one from the Fellowship has flipped yet. Likewise, two canonical Ringbearers (Bilbo and Elrond) have turned up, so I'm struggling to think of any more potential LotR factions. (Maybe the Istari, but there'd be five at most and only three of them ever appeared in the source material.)

I agree with the majority but let's hear from SamSniped too.

Jedi and Jedi Order are not the same. I'm a Jedi Townie but not Jedi Order; Sprig PM'ed me with the Jedi Order Victory Condition and, if he's to be believed, it is compatible with Townie victory, especially now that Empire is extinguished.
He asked me whether I was a Jedi as well. They may have powers that only affect Jedi, but I wouldn't be surprised if they need all the non-Order Jedi dead.

The Cult of Tom Bombadil, of course.

I was actually thinking White Council, but Istari sounds quite fitting. Admittedly kind of a mute point, since what they do matters more than whatever title they're saddled with.

SamSniped for now. Christos' timing is certainly fortuitous, but letting his claim pass doesn't seem smart either.

My ability is to see if one is town/non-town and his universe. There is a chance I am wrong (it does not say in the description how % chances I have to be wrong, it just says that there is a chance my scanning is wrong and I may identify a townie as a non townie). My scanning of SamSniped may be wrong, but if I am right, this is a chance to eliminate another non townie.

If you do not trust me, I call you to lynch me. At the end of the day, I will be proved correct and so I can laugh in the afterlife. I have nothing to be afraid, really. Just do not regret your action later.

And you of course are absolutely 100% Town?

Well, you can lynch me if you do not believe me. Just do not regret it later.
