When i was very young, and up untill the internet cafe's started taking over, when i was 18, i used to play arcade games a lot, mostly during the summer.

The first arcade game i ever played was probably bubble bobble.

Some other old ones include Double dragon (i mostly played 1) and of course Tetris.

Of the newer ones (relatively new that is) i played a lot of Streetfighter 2, which at the time was cutting edge, and spawned a thousant replicas.

I grew up during like the golden age of arcades, so I have too many to post.

From 2000-2010, I really like the Virtua Cop-type light gun games. There's one I forget, where you tackled the Japanese Mafia. I easily spent $10 a game beating it.

Nothing says awesome more than destroying the /entire/ Japanese fleet (Including the Yamato!) with just one P-38. (Midway actually happened in 1942, as well).

Anyone remember what the name of that arcade game was with the early rpg elements (sword upgrade, magic spells etc)?
The first archenemy (first 'boss') i think was a flying squid.

It was extremely popular here, and very addictive, although i never was good at it.

Did it have good vs. evil roleplaying?

My friend has one where based on your actions, you either become good or evil, and if your coop buddy is the opposite alignment as you, when you beat the game, then the two of you fight for the fate of the world.

It was called "Crystal <something" I think.

I never played it much, but i doubt it had any good vs evil theme or elements.
It was about a knight that tried to defeat some level bosses, but he could upgrade his sword and magic abilities :)

I have no clue how much change I pumped into this machine. It was alot though. I would even be willing to play Dazzler if it meant a slot was open. I remember standing around waiting for someone to leave so I could jump in on their person. Although Nightcrawler and Colossus were the ones I liked to play the most. Man, 6 people all gathered around a co-op arcade game. They don't make 'em like that anymore. :(

Honorable Mention goes to:

Lucky and Wild

Killer Instinct (Had to get the SNES version and play it to death)

And of course Bubble Bobble as well. That game was awesome.
