NOTW LV: The Underground (Game Thread)

What a silly wagon. Visorslash's ability is confirmed. The flavor of it is also suggests it's rather innocuous.

The ability only makes sense as a scum role if it's used in conjunction with a kill, which raises the question - if scum Visor weakened my strength last night, why did his scum teammates not attempt to kill me?

While I agree that Visor isn't our best lynch option, I don't see his ability as a plain obvious town ability. I don't fully know how strength works in this game, but it doesn't necessarily affect ones ability to survive an attack. So I don't see why mafia would target a player with -1 STR at the same time targeting the same player with a kill.

From FAQ:
Does strength affect vote strength?
No. Having 0 strength affects things, but otherwise strength only matters for enemy win conditions and strength-based abilities.

I don't particularly like a Visorslash lynch, so I'm going to go with clasical_hero

You are welcome, by the way, c_h. That is an OMGUS vote and third on the bandwagon, so now you actually have some basis for voting me.

So, is this some particular reason we're voting for classical and robbiecon, or is it just "We don't want to lynch Visorslash"?

Classical is active on the forum but contributing little both in and out of the thread.

But I'm willing to change. Got anything better?

c_h seems to be basing his vote on spaceman's "case" on me, which basically boiled down to "not active enough", while being an awful lot less active himself.

If he's basing it on something else, then he isn't telling us what it is.

edit: As I said before, no idea what the case on robbiecon is.

Tally with .5 hours left:
classical_hero: 4 visorslash, snerk, robbiecon, johnhughthom
robbiecon:3 Backwards Logic, sprig, jarrema
visorslash:2 Kennigit jarrema
johnhughthom:1 classical_hero
Not voting: 3 choxorn, Zack, Legato

I guess you two have fair points about classical, but it just doesn't really feel like anyone today is a good candidate for lynching, including him. I can't really say robbiecon or Visorslash would be a better candidae, though....

Dusk Day 4

In the afternoon, the consensus seemed to be that the slinger was a loyal squad leader, not a traitor, and therefore attention shifted onto the axman. Seeing what was coming, classical_hero tried to run, but was grabbed by the clockwork golem. However, that didn't hold him long, as he slipped right out of his skin, and took off running! However, a crack shot by the slinger shattered his hip, and soon he was well and truly destroyed. Investigation of his quarters, however, revealed nothing amiss besides a desire to "be a real dwarf", so reluctantly they were forced to conclude

Spoiler :
classical_hero was actually a bone golem, but still fought for A New Hope

Hopeful that the coming night would eliminate more orcs, the remaining forces went their separate ways.

Vote Tally
classical_hero: 4 visorslash, snerk, robbiecon, johnhughthom
robbiecon:3 Backwards Logic, sprig, kingmorgan
visorslash:2 Kennigit jarrema
johnhughthom:1 classical_hero
Not voting: 3 choxorn, Zack, Legato

Night Orders to me

No, your vote counts, I just misread my spreadsheet when I was writing up the tally (It's sorted alphabetically by lynchee's name, without looking at anything else). You'll see in the .5 hours to end of day tally, Jarrema appears to vote twice, once for robbiecon and once for visorslash. The one for visorslash was his vote, the one for robbiecon was you. I've edited the official tally in the end of day post to accurately represent the votes.

Morning Day 5

The first sound heard in the morning is the squealing of the boar. Gathering at the boar-rider's room, the golems are sent in to investigate. KingMorgan is lying dead in his bed, strangled, with his loyal steed weeping at his bedside. An investigation of the room yields no evidence of wrongdoing, and so you are led to conclude that

Spoiler :
KingMorgan was working towards A New Hope

When no breakfast rations are passed out, someone thinks to go look in on the quartermaster. He's lying near his stable, an ax in his skull. Strangely, there is no accompanying pool of blood. Although he is clearly much more lifelike than the bone golem, he too is apparently a golem. Indeed after close inspection it is revealed that he is the original golem, Barnaxus!

Spoiler :
snerk2.0 was actually Barnaxus, but was indeed fighting for A New Hope

Grieved by the loss of a yet a third legend of dwarfdom before battle is even joined with the enemy, and all too aware that less than half the camp remains, the call for enemy blood gains in urgency.
