2K forums recently welcomed a third community rep, so now we have 2K David, as well as 2K Greg and 2K Elizabeth..........all saying nothing.
There were (rumoured) 130 staff, and 20 got laid off. So now we have almost 3% off the entire crew as PR flacks, yet they still won't or can't tell us anything.

Wasn't it Firaxis that fired 20 people and had 130 employees?

David covers Spec Ops, Greg is Civ, and Elizabeth is all 2K products.

David, Greg, and I work at 2K Games, and we're in the web department, not PR.

David won't be working on Civilization - that's Greg's domain - but if you feel like we're not answering questions for you (save for the outstanding Steam questions which we're working on) let me know. Greg's got a slew of info and with the podcast series rolling out weekly, I hope we're tackling a lot of your questions.

It's just people being frustrated by things like Babylonia not being in the boxed version and things like that. Some changes are just a bit hard to swallow, and we have to blaim someone:D.

As long as you don't call me PR while you are blaming me, we're golden. :p

As I've posted elsewhere, I have given up hope of Greg providing the promised FAQ. The questions asked were not just about steam. As of yet he has not answered any questions, holding back until his FAQ is "ready".
Yes many questions are about steam, and its interaction with Civ V, and the downloads tied to registration, etc.........but many here have asked more basic questions, such as, what are the minimum and recommended system requirements? That (imho) has nothing to do with steam, but goes unanswered.
I (and I think many others) see few answers and much spin.
As for podcasts, for those of us with only dialup, who probably won't be able to play Civ V anyway, podcasts are worthless.

Hopefully Greg won't only use podcasts. I'm sure I'm not the only person who can't seem to find 40 minutes to sit around and listen to a bunch of babbling for maybe two minutes worth of useful content.

So, like, podcast all you guys want because there are people who enjoy that sort of thing, but please also put that information into text -- even if it's just on a blog.

"we're in the web department, not PR". - Ok, since you folks are in the web dept, here's a simple question for you. Why haven't you folks at least attempted to let folks know over on Facebook what's going on with the beta of Nation?

"David won't be working on Civilization - that's Greg's domain". - Really? how odd. Yet he doesn't seem to be checking in on his "dominion" too often.

"but if you feel like we're not answering questions for you (save for the outstanding Steam questions which we're working on) let me know". - Strange, I thought we've been doing just that.

"Greg's got a slew of info and with the podcast series rolling out weekly, I hope we're tackling a lot of your questions" - O joy. Any idea when this "slew" is supposed to put in an appearance? Because I really don't want to miss my next dancing lession
Um, just for curiosity's sake, what exactly is your version of "tackling? Because it definitely is different than mine.

Is this necessary? Really?

IMO, yes. While you may be happy with the status quo of Steam and the interaction of the 2k reps on this board, I am not.

Greg is not in the office currently, hence why I'm around these parts right now. He'll be back tomorrow (and yes, he's been working on updates while away from the forums.)

If you want to know something specific and you haven't told Greg already, please let me know exactly what you want to know - I'm not good with guessing based on generalities. I've recorded over 10 podcasts and am not nearly done, so we are honestly at the beginning of our series.

As for Facebook, I'm not sure exactly what you mean. If you are asking when Civilization Network is going live, that's not public info yet, but will be coming.

Well - Look at the bright side then. Since this David fellow's doing something else you don't have to expand the stockade to hold 3 people. Plus it's 50% less rotten vegetables for you to gather.

We aren't going to be changing Steam, so unfortunately if that's the bar I'm up against, I'm always going to fail. Beyond that, though, I'm happy to take suggestions.

Minimum and recommended system specs aren't finalized yet, so we can't give those out to you. When they are, we're going to be posting them, but we're not holding them back. They just aren't done.

And if you aren't going to play Civ, won't articles and Q&As be just as worthless to you as podcasts? (If you mean it takes a long time to download them, we have transcripts - but if you aren't interested in the info, I don't know what to do!)

Is that a confirmation that there will be no changes to how steam will operate on Civ5?
