Okay, I think I get it now. Thank you for clearing it up. I seem to have been the only one who was having trouble with this, so it would seem the problem wasn't so much an ambiguity in the rules as it was that I simply wasn't a participant in the process of getting those rules set up. That's what I get for trying to get into the Babe threads so late, I suppose. I guess it would have been simpler, albeit extraordinarily time-consuming, for me to just go through all the Babe threads one by one and see if a pattern emerged, rather than opening a new thread for this. Oops.
