Nukes - Proper/Practical Usage (I nuked joo Monty die die)

Haha, there's a game mode/mod/something where you can use nukes to literally destroy the world (it like, breaks open or something, or was that just a joke?). What a ridiculous concept.

Okay, so the three 'missile options' are:

Tactical Nuke
ICBM
Cruise Missile

Am I right? I think the Tactical Nuke has a bit more range than the Cruise, but the ICBM can hit anywhere.

I tend to use the Cruise Missile when I see stacks of units heading my way that I can't attack due to my main forces being elsewhere. Simply launch 'em out of a city, into the stack, and laugh as the collateral damage leaves the stack open to Blitz Mech. Infantry or Armored Units with >99.9% odds. The Tactical Nuke can be used in the same way, but does some more damage at a greater range. Finally, the ICBM is the ultimate nuke. The problem is, you can only take out some of the city's buildings and units. Really dumb (Fat Boy and Little Man, both archaic by today's standards of power, destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. If I try to launch an ICBM at Russia, or something, Moscow somehow survives with half the population and all the buildings!:mad:). But that's an argument for another thread.

So, here's a checklist:
Spoiler :

Did your main stack of units get obliterated/ambushed by a large archaic enemy?
Did your main military city get blown up and razed by a vengeful AI?
Did the capital you spent the entire game working on in a manner similar to Obsolete's just get captured?
Did the Towns around your main cottage city get taken out by wandering enemy Gunships while your Medieval-era city defenders cowered in fear?
Did your stack of 20 undefended Transports lugging troops in a 10-tile isthmus get ambushed and sunk with the exception of the one ship carrying one unit?

If so, welcome to the ICBM Workshop! Simply build one of these babies, press the red button, and unleash untold devastation upon the enemy! A Tactical Nuke and 3 Cruise Missiles come free if you are a fledgling Middle Eastern/African/Asian democracy or an Eastern European Cold-War Era Non-Communist State courtesy of the United States State Department!
