can anyone help solve my problem plz thanx

i assume that you have all the latest drivers?

-nVidia 81.85
-DirectX 9.0c

if so, please post your dxdiag.txt, you can get to it by Start->Run->dxdiag and then click on "Save All Information". Post it as an attachment.

I noticed from your text file that you have DirectX 9b; you need the 9c version that comes with the game in order to play. Did you do a regular install or did you do a custom install and elect not to upgrade DirectX? It seems not to have been installed with the game in your case.

Did you delete the Cache file in the Mygames Dir? then restart

Hi there

Sorry to hear of your troubles..

Things i did to make it run:
latest nvidia drivers for my card
latest direct x drivers
Copying the game to my hard drive and running off an image

Things i did to make it faster:
Overclock my CPU
Enable virtual memory to maximum settings
Lowest graphics settings
No sounds

Things I will complete by this week:
A gig more ram.

There seems to be a lot of people having problems with that GeForce 5500 one. Correct me if I'm wrong that that's the card nvidia had a lot of problems with and that's why they rushed to get the GeForce 6 Series out?

it wont allow me to install direct x 9.0c it juts gives me an error -
an internal error occurred.
please refer to directx.log in your windows folder to determine the probl
how do i get rid of this error any one plz!!!!!!!!!

finaly loaded the log file can some one take a look and telll me wots rong wid m direct x and y it wont install thanx

My XP goes blue screen when i try to browse the Civilopedia.
After cold reboot, it said the Nvidia driver got stuck in a loop, so I updated drivers from 77'ish to the newest 82-something version - Still the same, though it doesn't say why now, it still says the Nvidia driver caused the problem.

It's reproducable, but a really unpleasant way to crash...

thanx everybody who helped me

mine is working

what i did was delete my graphics driver and load direct x 9.0c from microsoft site, then i updated my vga drivers on my motherboard before reinstalling my graphics driver and lo and behold it works.
havent fully tested it out went on fro bout 20 mins it was fine
