Obama makes first big gaffe

Maybe everybody is missing the real point of this thread. If it has taken Obama this long to make his first big gaffe, he is obviously far behind in making enough big gaffes to be Presidential. A real Presidential contender would have made dozens of big gaffes by now. Obama is clearly inexperienced.

Your edit is too late. You already lost my vote.

it was an epic gaffe on his part and it is surely the sign of evil and/or weakness.

he is just not up to the challenge of posting on this forum.

*deafening silence*

i ran a parallel between people saying this gaffe hurts obama's chances of winning and alcosta's posting on this forum.

unless of course there was something ironic that i missed and that you were pointing out.

Just curious, what did AlCosta's post say before the edit?

What worries me about Obama isn't so much any stupid number mistakes he might have made, amusing as they may be. What I'm worried about is that he might be a racist. I know that sounds really bad, but after looking at his church's website, it doesn't sound so far fetched. (Assuming he believes much of what his church teaches) If you go on their website, it's all about black community and black morals and black achievement - but very little mention of Christ.

And the bulletins are worrying too. Like in this one (Warning: PDF file) the pastor talks about "this racist United States of America" and calls the war in Iraq "illegal and unjust" and quotes the terrible 600,000 civilians dead figure, and then talks about the surge as the President's "insanity".

I seriously think the IRS should look into this church, and consider revoking it's tax protections. If "white", "conservative" churches can be threatened with that over saying "On election day, think about whether Jesus would vote for someone who is Pro-Life, or Pro-Choice", I don't see how preaching this politicized message is any better.

So Obama making rookie mistakes is a big deal and a reason not to vote for him, but Bush making rookie mistakes doesn't matter. :crazyeye:

That's called intellectual honesty in some circles :mischief:

Everyone has "misspeaks", but the point is that GWB seems to have 10 times more than all the others combined.

Well, to be fair, the press is centered on him 10 times more as well.

Do mob ties count as gaffes? Because you failed to point that out in Guliani.

Well, it all depends on the mob tie. I mean if its a big pink bozo looking tie, then yeah probably...but if its a decent blue or red with a slight pattern on it, then no so much.

Close enough for me. :D Kind of like our dear President saying our bicentennial was in 1776 but quickly corrected himself to 1976.

How about one of the guys you pushed for an executive office job being tied directly to the mob? Is that a gaffe?
