McCain's trying to trick him into riding around in a tank like Dukakis. Instead of letting McCain frame him as uninformed because he hasn't actually seen Iraq in two years, saying something like "This Iraq challenge is another Washington gimmick. I don't need to parade around a Baghdad market in a flak jacket so that I can say that we should bring our troops home." would be the best political move for Obama. He'd reframe the debate, stay on-message, reinforce perceptions that McCain's dishonest and an insider, and put McCain on the defensive.
