Obnoxious new kind of ad

I now get an obnoxious new kind of ad:

with the space of the site itself shrunk to that little central area.

Do I just have to live with that (or enable ad blockers)?

Happens on lots of other pages (for me):

As I move around the site, it happens about every third or fourth new page I go to. It disappears after a while if I just sit.

Yes it sucks, someone screwed up somewhere.

When i click on an alert to this thread instead of taking me here it takes me to the Steam page for the ad.

Any word on when this ad will be removed? In this image a can't even click on mark read in alerts as the ad is in the way and when i try it takes me to the steam page. this is so annoying i have stopped using Civ Fanatics other than checking for mod updates until this ad is removed.

It's looking like they may have removed that ad as it hasn't popped up so far today. Thank you for getting rid of it.

Not complaining. I appreciate that you're working on it and that it might take time. Just letting you know that, contra CliffCo's experience, it hasn't been entirely cleared up yet.

(It's such counter-productive advertising. If somebody assured me this was the greatest game in the history of games, I wouldn't buy it--strictly out of anger for what its ad is doing to my CFC experience.)

Yes, I didn’t see it first thing this morning but after returning home a few hrs later it’s back again, and it sucks. If they don’t remove it and you’re not tied to a contract with the provider, hopefully admins can find a new provider.

I've also seen it a few times, very annoying. However like Gori I have not seen it in at least a few days now.
