The HOF has been updated. I've added a column to denote the civilization that was played to the tables. Games that were submitted before the new submission process do not have that information listed yet though.

This month we have 3 new top scores; SirPleb (Deity), EMan (Monarch), and Bremp (Chieftain). :king:

Congrats to everyone, especially SirPleb for taking his rightful spot at the top of the HOF!!! :goodjob:

I probably won't make another attempt for the next 3 years, so somebody else has to challenge you!

Congratulations to all!:band:

@Markstar: "rightful place"?!! I have the utmost respect for SirPleb, but you should never lose sight of the fact that you were the toppest of the top dogs for a while...

Thanks for the support, superslug, but let me get something of my chest...

Well, I might have been on top for a little while, but I also do believe that one does not really “deserve” to be on top without a certain amount of commitment.
I’ve always faired pretty well, I think (in the 20s and 30s), but I never did in real life what has always been my strategy in Civ ever since I started out with Civilization I in ’92 – research! I got internet access three years ago (from 0Kbit/s to 10Mbit/s, yeah!), but by that time I had a girlfriend to spend time (we got together after endless hours of “Lords Of The Realm”) and university to cope with.

It took me a really long time to find (actually a friend told me about it) CivFanatics, especially considering that I’m the prototype for a CivFanatic. And even then I almost never checked out the articles about strategy or mods that make Civ look better. I’m registered here for quite a while, but have only very few posts and nothing else to show besides a good score on Deity.
SirPleb, on the other hand, helps people, writes articles, comes up with helpful tools, but most importantly – he also does his research! He commited to the Civ-community and spends a lot of his time not only playing Civ, but also with the things that surround it.

So yes, I’m proud to have been 1st for a little while, but I have no bad feelings at all for clearing that honorable spot for SirPleb, it was, after all, his readme about his previous top-score that gave my game some final boost.
Maybe, when I get my act together outside the computer and have some time to spare, I’ll get things started again. Until then, I’ll play some multiplayer – at least there rounds only take only a couple of minutes and it’s really over when you sent your turn to the next player (unlike single-player where you have short breaks for bathroom & food (until you run out of it) and you only stop when you can’t hold your eyes open anymore or your head hits the keyboard). So do my fingers itch to start up a new game? Definitly! But I'm not going to anytime soon and that's why I think SirPleb definitely deserves to be the top dog! :king:
Again, congrats to everyone who made it to the HOF, I hope there will be more people who make those on the lists fight for their spots! :goodjob:

Points well taken, Markstar, and I do realize the benefit of SirPleb's contributions to the community. His recent illustration of the power of the rank palace exploit in his game inspired me to use the technique in my current game. The credit for my corruption being halved goes to him, not me...

Markstar :king:, you are gracious and classy. I hope the day comes when you can put major happy time into Civ. If it does I have no doubt you'll be pushing its limits here!
