Odd CD problem

After I try to boot up Civ 4 it begins the boot up prosess but then after about 1 min, it said that it cant find the CD.

Is this problem common?

(The CD is in the drive)

Are you trying to run the game? Or does this happen even before installing?

yeah that happended to me too i dled the 1.61 patch...didnt solve the problem, i tried both discs...didnt solve the problem too...

Could you play Civ4 before (without the latest patch)?
