Odd computer problem

Lately, I leave my pc running over night to get some soulseek downloads (nothing illegal, at least not THAT illegal). Now, this morning, I had a couple of weird observations:

1. The pc seems to have restarted. Just like that. Maybe it could've been my mother, who came in to wake me up and did something on my desk. I only heard her taking dirty glasses down to the kitchen, but maybe she also wanted to turn the computer off but hit the reset button instead.
But: Before I saw the "enter your network password" box, there was an error message that my screensaver had a failure (I have a self-made one), and the background was all white.

2. Sometime later, I turned it off and on again because of an error. Now, my entire D: hard drive (and the E: which is a partition (correct English word?) for it) was -gone! My background image was gone, a lot of shortcuts weren't working (needless to say, I have most of my stuff on this drive).

3. Now, I restarted it again, and it was back! As if nothing ever happened. Screensaver works, everything works.

Does this sound familiar to anyone here?

Nope, but I do experience problems sometimes that occur at start-up, and won't solve until the computer is restarted. Usually the problem is that the computer can't find the network though...

Explorer may have crashed, meaning that your computer did a quick reboot... And while it crashed, it may have interfered with a few programs so basically it did a bad crash, which messed something up...

But hey, if all is well now, don't fix it :-)

If I were you I'd run my anti-virus, adaware etc.
I've found that when I restart my computer every few days, it runs better than when I leave it on non-stop.
