I'm not sure what Odio's Prison means, if all units within 3 tiles gets +25% strength. It seems not to be a permanent promotion, but if it is only when in those tiles, isn't it basically a push, if everyone gets a 25% promotion. I assume I am missing something.

Its just like a citadel. The bonus goes to whoever controls the tile the prison is in, if the tile is owned then that player gets it as long as their isnt an enemy unit it in. If an enemy unit is in it the bonus is disabled.

Also the bonus (just like thecitadels) is only applied on defense.

I understand the enemy unit cancels the bonus for the owner but, does it confer it to the enemy units? I asume not.

Odio's prison is just annoying when it is in a cities fat cross since you can't remove it and it doesn't do much. I love the other features like the mirror, but Odio's prison seems laking.

But it's got such style. How can you not totally dig it? :goodjob:

Seems to me that putting some of the prisoners to work would be in order. Why not let it add some hammers - possibly increased by Code of Laws?

It's not the real prison- Odio is an Angel, and it is place where he was trapped-pulled into the earth. It is not a prison Odio has built for his captives.

Well, the Remnants of PAtria are just moai heads, but they can produce tons of hammers. I don't see why Odio's prison /shouldn't/ get added hammers at some point; Not necessarily as much as Remnants (Though since it doesn't add happy, maybe) but some hammers.

Maybe it could give +2 experience to all unites built in the empire? That would make it as powerful as a world wonder and therefore worth fighting for while not being to strong.

Well, what I decided to do was make Odio's Prison give a promotion to any unit that touched it, and have the promotion give +25% strength inside cultural borders. This seemed to fit the theme of the thing, and certainly increases it's strategic value (You actually have a reason to fight over it!).

I managed to pull the code off despite not really knowing any Python by copying the Pool of Tears code that removes Diseased... however, I seem to be encountering a bit of a graphical glitch. I gave the new promotion ("Chains of Odio") the Odio's Prison improvement graphic for a picture. This seems to work fine if you click on the unit and look at its promotions, however if you mouse over the unit it has a big pink box in its mouseover data instead of the picture I gave it. >.<

Anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

Ok, I haven't really read up on the Lore of those Improvements - a production boost doesn't make much sense then. Perhaps the ground could have been divinely blessed by his touch and produce more food instead?

just build a city over it for the defence bonus??
You can't build cities on top of permanent improvements and even if you could it would destroy the improvement.

Of course, building a city right next to it should work.
