Finally got around to playing a Suleiman game in my current game... almost done for a very long deity win, but...

I was VERY disappointed that Ibrahim's 'Grand Vizier' promotion doesn't do what I expected it to do, which is cancel loyalty pressure of a civ I'm at war with, since being at war automatically kicks Ibrahim out of the enemy's capital.

Was it this way at GS lauch, or is this something that came with the patch ? Was it concluded that it was way too OP ?

Really, this takes away most of my interest for Ibrahim, even though Serasker is pretty good when warmongering a neighbor.

That being said, Janissaries are really incredibly strong. Honestly, taking Grand Master Chapel in your GovPlaza, then stalling researching replaceable parts so that Infantry upgrade doesn't come along too fast allows you to buy tons of 240 faith janissaries... I wound up with dozens of janissary armies (which then cost a fortune to upgrade but that's another story) and went on a killing spree... was fun ;-)

Most governors are pretty upfront; a lot of their last promotions are often niche or not really that good. Serasker is just that good.

It's for protecting cities from loyalty pressure from civs you are at peace with.

If you are allies with Eleanor, you can use it to protect against her LUA.

You can quickly conquer a bunch of cities, make peace, then use Ibrahim to keep them from flipping back.

Ah see... I hadn't tought of that... I figured "If it's only for protection against Eleanor" I pretty much tought like @Archon_Wing that it's very niche... but yes I can see now using it to give you time to establish yourself after taking 2-3 cities without having them rebel might be pretty useful...

It's what I like so much about this community... you play with your set ways, and then someone makes you think a little outside of your box... Thank

In my two ottoman games, the only use I got out of Ibrahim is as a loyalty bubble from merely existing, not from any of his promotions. Exactly the same as Victor.

Honestly, Serasker when going on the warpath to a neighbor is extremely powerful... +10 attack on all units is one of the best promotion for a Governor... Victor has nothing that comes close to this...

It's the Grand Vizier promotion that disappointed me !
