offices in the new game

tourism is propably a bureau of the private branches, as most tourist offices in rl are.
but it would fall under domestic department work to open up an official office for it.
same with the museum for example

@shaitan: also if its off-topic:
the governor is a leader. dont forget. read the constitution. if 2 citizens want a leader to post a poll under his area of influence, we MUST post it. no matter what intentions he has about this.
if we cut down this law to non-governor leaders we will soon end with a republic or despotic game.

and also:
a leader should act in the will of people. this means that any leader has to cut down his own opinion for that matter.
it this point, the governor does not count as citizen, but to resolv this the constitution explicitly says 2 citizens must say it (=1 must second it)

I've already agreed that governors are bound by the forced poll rule. However, all citizens are always citizens. Having a higher position does not prevent someone from being a citizen with all of the rights and privileges thereof.

Yes, i think we missunderstood here:
of course you would need 2 citizens to get something to the poll. the governor can not hinder a poll being done.
the only problem will be that a poll will take 48hours + 24hours of discussion to be valid (minimum), so it will propably be too late for a change anyways :-(
what will hapen with build queues where citizen requested a change and which is discussed and polled at the time of the chat, maybe even a clear tendency towards a change is visible?
after our laws, even if this is bad, they will be implemented the proposed way even if there is a clear sign of citizens not wanting it that way...
the poll-override of a leader decission always has this bad side. this is always the problem when decissions are made by single persons rather than by citizenry.
a tendency to have more things polled on is definitely not visible, as our poll rate on game-related topics is much lower than in the beginning of the game. in contrary, a tendency for me seems to be there to decide things in the dark room and just put them in the instruction thread without even mentioning them anywhere else (be quiete, or u will have to discuss it!).

But these are tendencies of individuals. An individual who governs in this manner can be replaced. Despite the attrocious official performance of several leaders in this game, there was little to no campaigning against them. If the people want a governor who listens to the people and takes care of the province every way possible, elect the Cycs instead of the Civanators.

josh:
the reason i, for example, dont run for governor is that i believe i do bad for my province when i dont show up at the chat to directly influence ad-hoc decissions.
as i am not able to participate in any chat, i will be bad as governor and so i have to quit nomination for it.

which positions should people take to influence the game when they can not attend the chat? the only one possible are mayors, but there we are denied any direct influence on the game.

I disagree that governors need to be at the chat, but that's neither here nor there. If mayors become the queue builders for thier cities, wouldn't they also need to be at the chat according to your logic?

no, as the governor could still be there for quick-decissions.
to this matter, we should stop the discussion in here (becoming off-topic). i will post another proposal for this as compromise soon in citizen area. stay tuned.
please here mostly discussion on the offices from now on ;-)

The church of the ONE is an elemental part of the goverment but is ruled by his prophet and prime priests.
