I really don't care. At all. Use the acronym you want, it's still civ V.
This. Thisthisthisthisthisthis. This all over.

I don't like it myself. I have to stop and take a second look at the abbreviation every time it appears (unless it's obvious from the context), to see whether it says cIV or ciV... And I don't really see any good arguments pro this.
I like Civ5 or civ5. No confusion there.
Yep. That's just it. Some people seem really upset about people using ciV. Let them use it. It isn't wrong, contrary to what some people may think. It is easy to tell the difference between cIV and ciV.
If you want to use Civ V or Civ 5, go right ahead.
So, I'd appreciate it if none of the zealots told me I was "doing it wrong" anymore. I have never told anyone that Civ V or Civ 5 is wrong. I just prefer ciV.
That's all I'm going to say on the matter.
I agree. At first it annoyed me, but after a few times of seeing ciV you start to remember what it means, so live and let live I say.
Fixed it for you.It is easy to tell the difference between cIV and ciV on a good monitor and good eyes.
Just curious. Will you be following your own advice?<snip>
Let the majority decide. If you don't like it then start your own boards and use whatever you want.

Disclaimer: In fairness to Thormodr, I am taking the comment out of context (he was talking about the icon for civ 5) but I was nonetheless surprised to see it had been written.
A majority of 20% is enough for some things - a majority of more than 50% is not enough for other things.
By the way, you never told me what the picture meant. Are you ever going to?![]()
What the icon uses and what the abbreviation is when typed out are two completely different things.

Seriously? A poll on whether or not we should be telling people what abbreviations to use?
As long as the content of anyone's posting is clear, I think we leave them alone when it comes to what abbreviations they use.
on an auto forum people might think you're talking about a previous generation of the Corvette
