On the use of "ciV" as an abbreviation for Civilization V

Do you think the abbreviation "ciV" for Civilization V should be encouraged or discou

None of that means that the use of ciV cannot be discouraged. The fewer of that horrible abbreviation we see the better in my book. The consensus is that we should not doing it, at least the poll shows that result. More people feel like it should be discouraged than there are people voting for other options, that is more than 50% do not want to see ciV used as an abbreviation. In this light it takes quite a persistent individual to keep using ciV.

There are a couple of people I've noticed try to drop the "ciV" in practically every second or third sentence they write. I've just started adding these people to my ignore list.

If you love writing "ciV" so much that you want to ignore the wishes of a majority who just want readability, you no longer deserve to have your posts read by me.

I encourage anyone else who actually gets annoyed by the abbreviation to do the same thing. It's up to you to decide whether you think a person's posts in general are valuable enough to outweigh the annoyance of them writing "ciV" all the time.
Thormodr will be pleased to know he's not on my list because despite the usage of "ciV" he usually has something interesting/useful to say. :)

Strangely, the people I've added so far did not even vote in this poll.

On the statistics, with 205 votes so far this sample, assuming it's representative of the civ5 forum-going population, indicates there is greater than 95% likelihood the true proportion of people who think "ciV" should be discouraged is more than 50% (i.e. a majority). As troytheface would say, the evidence is clear.

EDIT... image removed

Is there anyone out there who can explain the meaning of the picture in this post? Maybe I'm slow, maybe I'm missing the obvious. Maybe an American idiom of some sort?

"Don't make a mountain out of a molehill"; to exaggerate a problem.

Thanks. I suspected it might be an idiom.

The image has been removed now anyway but with the explanation provided I don't think it was a big deal and needn't have been removed.
