Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

We noticed, Mr. Modern Era.

Pharoah was not paranoid after all. The blood thirty Romans betrayed us!

What worried us more is what the Songhai is preparing for us. They are Mr. Modern era as well and they have the money and wonder to boost military in a matter of seconds!

Situation is deteriorating fast. We suspect the Roman Calvaries are just distraction. And Songhai is cooking up something even worse. We will be building anti-airs and fighters soon to control the sky! :scan:

We apologise for the broken trade deal, it makes our people sad to say goodbye to their source of gold. But betrayal? :nono: Of what? We had no agreement or alliance beyond trading relations.

Tyrian diplomats made a convincing case that we help the city states resist Egyptian oppression, in fact using Egypt's own suggestions to sway us: that we ally against him, and that he who destroys the most of his military will be elected to lead the world government, thanks to all the allies who will join the cause!

Caesar could not resist this line of argument, especially not when Egypt's technological marvels would lead either to our extinction, or to Pharaoh owning a piece of the sky. The die is cast. There was no better time to try to save the world! :D

The paranoia Pharaoh would like to know if that is some kind of alliance against Egypt, pretending as a conflict?

Perhaps backstabbed or tricked will be the better word instead of betrayal. It is the Songhai worker who is building the road near Warsaw that alarmed us.

We failed to see how Roman Calvaries can do any damage here, besides capturing the scouting workers here and there, given the double rivers that surround our cities.

Capturing worker counts as destroying units for CS request?

Well, it was a ruse, all this business about Tyre. But you have to expect such things in The Great Game of realpolitik.

Backstab again implies treachery, from a close trusted friend or something along those lines. Whereas clearly, Pharaoh trusts no one, and if your back were to us, you wouldn't have all those troops lined up ready to meet ours. ;)

We have nothing to lose. To sit idly by would be to await our destruction, and/or have our citizens emigrating to Egypt to populate the stars.

Askia tires of your ceaseless accusations Ramsesses. If he is going to be accused of something, he might as well get the benefit of it. The Songhai are marching to war (with their old men with pointy sticks).

It doesn't take more accusations to war, it just takes one more excuse.

Interesting, what a difference between the final version and the initial post.... I'd been wondering if and how the Russians might factor in, myself. Caesar hopes for continued goodwill for the historical role played in the defeat of the Aztec menace.

It looks as though Eygpt has defended itself from invasion? Or is there still a bloody war happening?

Egypt is currently defending itself. ;)

Russian brothers are the determinant factor in this Great War of Defence. Egyptians appreciate the friendship and invite them to take the front seats on the way to Alpha Centauri.:goodjob:

Although states are at war with each other, Egypt Pharoah will honor his agreement not to nuclear attack any civ in this game. Therefore we believe Roman Manhattan Project is only for peaceful utilization of nuclear energy.

When did you make this agreement, and was it with anyone else? Interesting belief! I have learned never to argue with anyone else's beliefs.

The Songhai (both factions) agree to the signing of a nuclear nonproliferation agreement. We do not even know what that means, but we believe these green rocks that make our people sick to be cursed and will stay away from them for as long as possible.

Caesar is happy to announce that the Roman Senate and 'street' approve of a non-nuclear aggression pact between the three current major world powers: Rome, Egypt, and Songhai. Caesar stipulates other nations of the world must not be made victim of nuclear attack by any of the three powers, with the exception that if the Monty is not interested in joining the pact, this is his right, but we and other world powers would then retain the right to use nukes against him. :D

The no nuke pact has absolute support from Egypt.

Written in the treaty :)

Oh no, a :deal:! I looked at most of the thread before I posted, but didn't see it. It did ring a bell though, once you mentioned it.

There is dissension in the Senate. Most Senators wish to honor Caesar's deal. But there is a small faction, led by Nero, who definitely have other plans.

Well, if we abide by this, then we might as well gg. From my perspective, it would be more fun to :nuke::bump::egypt: even if it's a :backstab:, but you probably have another perspective, and I wouldn't want you to get all [pissed].

Well, if Egyptians were to prepare for a nuclear strike, we would be aiming to eliminate any city that's within 12 range of Thebe from the very early renaissance era. So far we kept our promise and made no advance into Roman territory, given our lead in military strength for most part of the late game. If Caesar is fond of nukes, feel free to launch as many as he wishes on us in other games. :)

I really hope not to be nuked in this particular game. I had good memory of it.

Nuke me to death in other games please.

Does Rome have uranium? I see his coal but no uranium. I dont have either tech yet, just going by the trade window.

Caesar abhors the use of any such inhumane and devastating weapons. It's Nero's faction the world should fear, they seem to be filled with glee at the prospect of creating new, temporary suns. Indeed, a band of his settlers, can you imagine it, wants to found a city amongst the glowing green rocks! They seem to be religious fanatics, and this mystical substance their god. And of course, they want to spread the Word.
